JUBA – The leadership of holdout South Sudan United Front/Army led by Gen. Dickson Gatluak Jock Nyuot has in a statement seen by Thejubamirror ordered all forces in Greater Upper Nile region to report themselves to Maiwut base in 90 days.
“Under Nairobi Declaration on 28th January 2023, this standing order serves as official notification that, forces from South Sudan United Front/Army ( SSUF/A) based in the Upper Nile Sector will start moving for a considerable period of ( 90 days ) from Western Upper Nile (Bentiu), Central, Northern, and Eastern Upper Nile as well as parts of Jonglei areas to the New Bilpam General Headquarters GHQS (Kigile) closer to the Ethiopia border in Eastern corridor, Maiwut County”. Reads the statement.
Gen. Dickson Gatluak in the statement says, “Purpose-The troops will be staying at New Bilpm for 12 months or more until they finished the training at the Boot camp before they are deployed in the National Army to take up their duties to support peace and participate in nation-building in the Republic of South Sudan”.
“Security Clearance We, therefore, call on the South Sudan government, particularly the SSPDF and SPLM/A in Opposition to give a safe passage to SSUF/A forces to their final base in Maiwut County as underlined”.
The transportation of weapons is authorized.
SSUF/A forces are ordered to observe the ceasefire signed in Rome, in January 2020, by the government of South Sudan and the South Sudan Opposition Movements Alliance (SSOMA)
Will Proceed Date: 01/4/ 2023.
Number of Days: 90 days
Mode of Travel: Land and water.
Additional movement requirements will be completed when the SSUF/A leadership moves to Juba, using amendment standing orders-13/03/001-23
