Senior Presidential Advisor for Special Programs Dr. Benjamin Bol Mel has arrived in Khartoum this afternoon as the head of the delegation on his first outside-the-country trip since he was sworn in last week. He was received at Khartoum International Airport by a member of the Sudan High Supreme Council Gen. Mohammed Algali.
Dr. Mel’s task, according to sources in Juba includes peace supervision; a task that had been undertaken by Hon. Tutkew Gatluak for the last four years. It’s now clear that president Salva Kiir has stripped off powers from his Security Advisor rendering him irrelevant in his government.
