INSULTS are neither suitable nor useful political instruments for accomplishing one’s goals, and they should be avoided wherever possible. They are incapable of breaking any political impasse. They demonstrate a lack of composure and are an acknowledgement by the insulter that they have completely lost control of their emotions.
It is clear that a person in such a state has nothing left to lose since they are engaging in negative rhetoric in the expectation that it will improve their political status. This means that he or she is emotionally broken and can’t find a way out. His or her mind is so clouded that he or she has no choice but to rant or start public spats to cope.
Functional political tactics that indicate policies that are within reach are what matter in politics, however, this is not always the case. The finest instruments for attaining a competitive advantage include being analytical, strategic, and composed while interacting with others of similar mind on the appropriate pillars of national progress, primarily in terms of politics and economics.
To be successful in persuading one’s adversaries, one’s advocacy should be centred on strategic political goals that may be reached in an extremely short amount of time. It is possible to achieve political success and even maintain it for an extended period of time if one possesses strong leadership skills, besides having a well-articulated vision and engaging in behaviours that generate favourable outcomes. Because the nature and activities of political offices are open to the public, one way to achieve political success is to maintain the satisfaction of the public over an extended period.
However, with South Sudan, political instability led to a quagmire that turned into a difficult jigsaw puzzle to solve. As a direct result of this, a war broke out, which, combined with the vices that radiated from it, caused the nation to burn even more. The catastrophic loss of life and the accompanying collapse of the economy have left the population despondent.
Sophistry and a predisposition towards tribalism have also made this worse, and the political solutions that have been presented are unsustainable since they can only be maintained for a certain period that is defined by the convenience of the principals. This occurs when they have reached a temporary consensus to divide the loot amongst themselves. When greed takes over, it tears through the convenience, and the union is torn as a result. At this point, to protect themselves from one another, they employ the citizens as shield. What takes place with the shield is not a secret to us.
Although our nation is in shambles because of political unrest that has caused an economic meltdown, our young people ought to keep pushing forward without clamping down on their peers. The greatest treasure that we have is our own nation. Political cycles are not eternal, and it is possible that there may be more favourable times in the future.
According to the opinions of several experts, the state of the nation’s economy is not only precarious or worrisome; rather, it has fully collapsed. The money made from oil reserves is usually put into an open fit, which is something that we are all familiar with. To make matters even worse, the fit that we are discussing is bottomless, and it is quite doubtful that it will get full any time soon.
The only news that is being reported across the nation is about how ineffective ministers are being moved from one ministry to another. Those who have been nominated to the Finance docket either have a limited understanding of their responsibilities or are too intimidated by the cartels to even begin doing their actual duties.
It is not enough to simply pour millions of dollars into the shadow economy in order to jumpstart the country’s flagging economy. It does not exist on its own. There are many different aspects that need to be taken into account. This indicates that political stability is one of the most important requirements, as this might make it simpler for the incompetent security sector to perform successfully.
The development pillars would experience significant growth as a result of this. To begin the process of reestablishing political stability, all of the preliminary actions that must be taken include the execution of the census. If these procedures are successfully completed, credible, free, and fair elections will be the result.
As this subject wouldn’t be discussed to exhaustion here, I wish to convey this message to fellow South Sudanese: insults are not effective political tools. Nobody would ever achieve political success, economic stability, or national growth through a tribal agenda that fragments the nation.
Anyone who wants to further fragment South Sudan should consider how far we have to go before we reach South Sudan. In order to create a new nation out of South Sudan, it will not happen as a wish. It will, like any struggle, suffer insurmountable setbacks.
I hope this serves the day. Yours truly, Mr. Teetotaler!
