Over 45 people who narrowly escaped death in the clashes between youth from Jonglei-Pibor inter-communal have been airlifted to the capital – Juba for specialized treatment.
Inter-communal fighting broke out on Christmas eve between the armed youth of Jonglei State and Pibor Administrative Area, which led to the loss of several lives and injuries
The Medical Director of Bor State Hospital, Dr Bol Chaw Mayol, said over 45 victims had been referred to Juba Military Hospital.
“Wounded and seriously ill (individuals) have been coming to the hospital since Sunday and are admitted,” Chaw said.
However, Bol added that they are dealing with a bulging number of patients who are still trooping in with various wounds, forcing the management to discharge those with minor injuries.

“On Saturday, we referred more than 35 patients, who were in critical condition, to the Juba military hospital for further management. This morning [Tuesday] we referred more than 10 people to Juba,” Chaw added.
“We will be receiving a team from the ICRC to come and access the situation and see how they can rescue and assist the hospital.”
