JUBA – An armed opposition group led by the former army chief turned rebel leader Gen. Paul Malong Awan refutes accusations from SSPDF of reorganizing forces to launch an offensive on government troops stationed in Tambura county.
Maj. Gen. Lul Ruai Koang on his interview with The Juba Echo yesterday stated that, “Suspected militias forces belonging to SSUF/A of Gen. Paul Malong have been intercepted by an SSPDF Intelligent on a huge military exercise drilled to attack our base in Tambura county of Western Equatoria State. “Peace partners should take a look on that because Malong is a part of ceasefire agreement”. He called.
On his part, Malong’s led SSUF/A military spokesperson Col. Philip Deng Kuol Nguot when contacted by thejubamirror this afternoon, he dismissed the
allegations, describing it as a cheap propaganda designed to lower our image from the eyes of peace guarantors in Rome.
“You know Mr. Lul was not right and this is a total ceasefire violation plan by regime. “Our forces contented in the area under the command of Maj. Gen. Thon Chiluel Mathou have never been breathing heavy to launch a fortified attack on SSPDF barrack as asserted”. Col. Philip Deng refuted.
Deng told thejubamirror news desk on phone reiterates their commitment to the Cessation of Hostilities Agreement (CoHA) that was inked by rivalring parties.
“So, SSUF/A still standing tall in respect to an arrived ceasefire compromise and the Rome Resolution that was signed by warring parties”. Col. Deng added .
