Things went parallel again today in mother’s Union in present of educational attache Ustaz Lual l Akol and Madam Flora, who were send by South Sudan embassy in Uganda to witness the dissolution.
On Monday both Mr president Gum and speaker Mamuch with some parliamentarians went to the embassy and raised the concern of how speaker should spearhead dissolution and accountability, So Mr speaker Mamuch was fully given back his powers of running the August house.
However In today’s session, accountability was the first agenda which was discussed, and debate on by parliamentarians on how the Union funds of 41,200 USD was used in one year term.
The secretary for finance Mr Changkoth Went through all the activities and students facilitation union did. The problem came in when Mps asked secretary for finance to provide receipts for activities and each transactions made during leadership period, unfortunately there was none with acception of dates only.
Mps directed questions to Mr president Gum Beny, where he answered allegations very well were he was accused of receiving money which he actually didn’t received while some answers concerning relocation of funds without council knowledge weren’t satisfactory to them (Mps) .
So the speaker passed the resolution of the voting against the misused of student’s funds, in according to constitution ⅔ majority wins, the total delegates who shown up was( 22) so 17 delegates voted for impeachment and the 4 never voted.
At this point Mr speaker Mamuch Deng declared Mr president Gum Beny and secretary for finance impeached! And he left.
After this, the parliament became chaotic as educational attaché Ustaz Lual Akol, Majok Meen and Madam Flora tried to calm down house but things got ugly.
So members of embassy passed information of forming committee to look into accountability reports and auditing for one week time, surprisingly Mr president Gum Beny decided to declared his EC. after team from embassy and delegates left the venue.
That was how things fall apart .
